Thanks to Walgreens for underwriting this post. I was paid as a member of the Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all mine. Visit http://www.discoverbeautywithin.com/
I've been wanting to do a beauty tutorial for a while now but my makeup is so basic that I wasn't sure it constituted a tutorial. HOWEVER. Some of you have been asking what makeup I use and how I use it so I figured it's worth at least a Teeny Tutorial. Then I was chosen to do a post on summer beauty for Walgreens and I thought this would be the perfect time.
Now, I don't know about you but pretty much all the makeup I use I can get at Walgreens. It's cheap and accessible which is great because if you're traveling and forget something you know you'll be able to find your usual makeup easily. Not that that's happened to me before or anything. I pretty much use the same application formula all year round but I switch up my colors. In summer I really love bright eyeshadow and I think it's a lot easier to get away with. Especially citrus colors. Love it.
I never wear foundation because I don't like the way it feels on my skin but I do use a moisturizer with SPF (Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer with SPF 30 in case you're wondering). Sometimes I go with the tinted version if I'm feeling fancy. I always use Maybelline's Dream Bouncy blush because I love the way it goes on and the color is really great. Like a natural flush. And I always top off my look with Maybelline's Baby Lips. I know I've mentioned it before but I seriously LOVE IT. SERIOUSLY. I have the pink and the red and they're both really really great.
1. Cover Girl eyeshadow palette in Tropical Fusion.
2. Maybelline Baby Lips in Fruit Punch.
3. Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in Hot Tamale.
4. Maybelline Falsies mascara in Blackest Black.
5. Rimmel Soft Kohl eye pencil in Sable Brown.
That's about it! Oh, I do want to mention that I always put on my eyeshadow using my finger. I think it's easier to blend and makes for a softer application. I also apply my blush with my fingers. Apparently I don't believe in makeup tools. Ha!
Do you have a summer beauty routine? Do you change the colors/products you use based on the season?

I love using my finger to put on eye shadows! Every time I do it in front of my friends they look at me like i am a neanderthal. I do use brushes sometimes as well but nothing beats the 5 minutes morning rush finger eye shadow trick.
ReplyDeleteThat eyeshadow combination looks gorgeous!!!! Usually I just do powder and mascara, but I really want to try this look! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look on you! Looks so fresh and fun for summer! Thanks for the tutorial! :)
