Teeny Tutorial: DIY Sillhouette Doormat with Elizabeth of Please Note

Today's Teeny Tutorial is brought to you by the supercool Elizabeth from Please Note.  Go visit her awesome blog and shop and say hello!

Hi friends! Today I'm going to share this silhouette welcome mat DIY with you! I found this welcome mat at Home Depot for about $5 and decided it needed a little something extra. Here's how to make your own...

What you'll need:
  • simple welcome mat
  • spray paint
  • thick paper
  • exacto knife
  • scratch paper or newspaper
  • tape
To make your stencil, start by finding a photo you like that will be fairly simple to cut out. I chose a deer head. Print the photo on cardstock. You might need to split it into two or three pieces if you want the silhouette to be large.

Once you've made your stencil, it's time to spray your welcome mat!

Once you're done painting, remove the stencil and reveal your awesome silhouette!

Make sure to let the paint dry before impressing your guests!

  4. So fun! Can't wait to make one! But... I'll have to wait to use it- my screen door is so close to the ground, there's little to no room for a door mat. Bummer.
