Halp! I need new music!

Source
I've been in a musical rut lately.  I haven't listened to anything new in a while and honestly I'm not really sure where to look.  I don't really listen to the radio and I'm not really in tune with the music world.  Soooooo I need your help!  Tell me what you listen to.  Tell me who your favorites are.  Want to send me a mix tape (or cd)?  Go right ahead!  I love mixes!

As far as what I'm into, I like a little bit of everything.  Here are a few of my current favorites...
So what have you got for me?

19 little lovelies:

Avett Brothers are my one stand out favorite. Forever. Always. You might also enjoy some Tallest Man on Earth, Mason Jennings, Head and the Heart, Fleet Foxes, Jake Troth (his acoustic stuff is dreamy)... go, go, go!

I've really loved Dale Earnhart Jr. Jr. lately. It's different and sing-along-able. Try Morning Thought. I think it's the best one.

I was definitely going to recommend the Avett Brothers. Their older stuff is good too. Alkaline Trio is also good for that emo/rock/punk vibe.

Haha oh man, you do have quite a good variety of music! And I think you're the first blogger who I think could have similar music interests as me :) I agree with Alkaline Trio, and also their guitarist/co-lead singer Dan Andriano's album, Hurricane Season (under the name Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room).

Social Distortion, especially the newest album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, and all of Mike Ness's solo stuff ("Ballad of a Lonely Man" was supposed to be done with Johnny Cash, but he was sick and then died).

Flogging Molly is good Celtic punk without sounding too Irish-y all the time.

Mumford and Sons is kind of similar to the Avett Brothers in a lot of ways.

The Living End is an Australian punk band, their stuff is kind of hard but they have a few more mellow songs, like "So What," and "Nothing Lasts Forever." :) :)

I will always and forever point people toward Resident Hero. They are my favorite band of all time. If you're looking for some pop-rock, try "Happy Without Me." If you want something a little more hardcore, you can try "Vendetta Black." Something in between? Try "Stepping Through." I'm sure you can find videos on youtube, or listen to the little clips in itunes : ]
