Teeny Tutorial: DIY Grippy Socks

Today's Teeny Tutorial was born from another idea.

I made Margaux some leg warmers after seeing this tutorial on Pinterest.  How cute are these?!  I got a bunch of knee socks at Target on clearance for like 50 cents a piece!

The only thing is you're left with the bottom part of the sock after you've made the leg warmer.  I didn't want to throw it away and I didn't think these particular socks would make very good dusters but they were just about the right size for no show socks.  I don't wear no show socks but since winter is coming I figured I could use some more grippy socks for around the house.  The first thing you want to do is zig zag stitch around the cut edge just like you do for the leg warmer bit (make sure to pull the sock while stitching).  This'll keep your socks from unraveling and give it a cute ruffled edge.

Next you just use some puffy fabric paint to paint dots on the bottom of your socks.

Done!

Remember, the bigger the dot the more grip so I'll leave that up to you.  You could also do lines or zig zags or circles.  I leave the design up to you!
