Teeny Tutorial: Mini Message Board DIY

I had a request for an organizational type tutorial recently and I had a great idea the other night while lying in bed.  Unfortunately I was too tired/lazy to write it down and couldn't remember it in the morning.  Sigh.

Luckily inspiration hit as I was walking through Target!  I know you've seen the tutorials that show you how to make a picture frame into a dry erase board, right?  But what if you don't have any wall space?  Or work in a cubicle?  I've got just the thing!  Go ahead and pick up one of these plastic self-standing frames!  As a picture frame they're slightly tacky but as a cute message board?  Delightful!  And it'll only cost you $2.99!  Seriously, the 8x10 frame was only $2.99, everything else I had (well, except for the dry erase markers but I needed to replace my dried out ones anyway).

Even if you don't have any pretty paper you can use the back of the insert for the frame to make a little calendar!  Or a TO DO list!  Just use a sharpie to make your grid (which I had to modify because there are seven days in a week, not five...DUH).

Slide it back in the frame and fill in with the dry erase marker!  SO EASY, RIGHT?!

You can also cut some pretty paper to the size of the frame and just use the markers to write whatever you'd like on the plastic.  That way you keep the paper nice and pretty and you can reuse it!

Very cute! I made a frame to hang on the wall, but this is such a neat twist. I might make a couple for people with desk jobs for christmas. :)
