This is my favorite month. Do you know why? Because it's my birthday month! Also, it's when Spring starts! Also it starts with an M! March means presents to me and so I love it most of all. It also means Spring Break which is a great motivator :)
This March I decided that I would have a great big birthday bash and invite all of you to attend! I'm hosting a great big giveaway because I not only love getting presents but I love giving them as well. ReplyDeletemy favorite birthday memory is a more recent one. there was no party or anything like that. My husband, son, and I spent the day thrifting and park-hopping. It was pretty perfect.
My favorite birthday memory is from when I was a child. We didn't live in the same state as our grandparents, but every year when my grandmother came to visit she would bring a whole suitcase full of birthday supplies, decorations, presents, etc. and we would throw a huge family birthday.

ReplyDeleteMy fave birthday memory was last year on my 29th birthday. i had just moved to small town bc and invited my friends for a birthday weekend campout. To my surprise three of my best lady friends came out for the birthday! it was a fantastic weekend filled with lots of laughter and relaxing with our fellas. couldn't have asked for a better birthday.

My favorite birthday memory is when we go to the festival of lights. I was born around Christmas time and so there is a little park covered with different light displays that you can drive around and look at. I always loved doing that as a kid-and still do as an adult.

I loved my 12th birthday; I had a pizza party at Mountain Mike's Pizza, and then my friends and I got to ride around in a limo, watching movies (we watched 'Clueless'!) and listening to music (The Cranberries and a Dance Party USA compilation). My favorite birthday moment would have to be, renting a giant party bus, when I turned 21 took 35 of closest friends out to celebrate, and guess who was the "last man standing" ME! lol it was hilarious.....everyone but myself was passed out and heavily intoxicated. :)

my fav birthday memory had to be when I turned 6 all my cousins, aunts & uncles where there. we had a stand alone metal sided liner pool (yea this is a long time ago ;). We swam all day, had a huge cookout and since my b/d is the day after 4th of July we all celebrated w/sparkers, punks and fireworks. Oh yea and tons of cake and ice cream...yumm

ReplyDeleteMy absolute bestest bday memory was on my 23rd me celebration, I asked friends to meet at my favorite restaurant at the time (which I later ended up working at for a few months). My favorite waitress, who is now a dear friend, surprised me with an AMAZING home-made vegan chocolate cake with chocolate-covered strawberries on top. At the time, I was a regular customer, not really a "friend," and she went out of her way to make the cake at her home to make my bday dinner at the restaurant extra special. Absolute best!

The first year my boyfriend and I dated, he spent the week before my birthday completely spoiling me. I got a present and a sweet little handwritten note as a surprise at some point during the day. I love the little things :)

ReplyDeletemy favorite birthday memory was in highschool over spring break my junior year. we went up to boston and stayed with my uncle and aunt. we took a day trip out to nyc to visit my other awesome uncle. on my actual birthday, we went to hard rock cafe for dinner and they had me stand up on a chair on a platform and everyone sang to me. they brought me a rootbeer float with a candle in it (since i don't like chocolate desserts). it was perfect!

My favorite birthday memory would have to be my 16th birthday, right in the middle of summer. My friends kidnapped me and had planned on driving me to another city to do something(I can't even remember what it was now). They got lost and we ended up playing mini-golf instead. My birthday is in December, and so I always had crappy birthday parties because they fell over Christmas break. That, and, most people gave me one present for Christmas and my birthday. Lame-o. One year, when I was young, my mother let me have a birthday party out of season, and I got to take friends to the roller skating rink. So eighties, but so awesome!

ReplyDeleteMm, my favourite memory would have to be from my most recent birthday. Two of my best friends I hadn't seen in ages conspired and kidnapped me for the entire day. Then in the evening, I was surprised again by a party some close friends had put together. We stayed up all night watching B movies and generally being ridiculous. Beautiful!

Finally, my favourite birthday memory is my birthday three years ago. I have my birthday on the 31st of March, so sometimes the weather is already really good and on this sunday the sun was shining and it was warm and it felt like pure spring. A lots of friends came over (I celebrated at my parents house) and I made breakfast and lunch and cakes and we sat outside and talked and the most important thing: it was such an easygoing day and my father enjoyed it sooo much!! Later in May he died...

ReplyDeleteso, every year on my birthday i send handmade cards out to people who i feel like played an important role in my life that year. i tell them how they have changed me or contributed to my life, and thank them. it's kind of a way for me to remember to be grateful.
one year, someone who i sent a card like that to and i had been out of touch for quite a few months by my birthday. she called me when she received it and told me she had been having a pretty tough time lately, and told me that i had given her hope for herself again.
that's not exactly a birthday memory i guess, but it's still my favorite.
