Guest Post: Marla from Marla Grace's DIY Mittens + Giveaway

Hi!  It's Marla from Marla, Plain & Small!  Here's a super easy tutorial to dress up a pair of gloves.  Anybody can do this, and you don't need a lot of materials, making this project really affordable!  Best part of it all-- you can win this pair!

Rosette Mittens Tutorials

Materials:
  • Pair of mittens (I got these from Target.  You could knit some if you're super good at knitting!)
  • Fabric glue
  • Fabric
  • Scissors

Cut a few strips of fabric.  Keep in mind the longer and wider the strip, the bigger the rosette will be.

Tie a knot in the end of the strip.

Twist the fabric as you go.

Add a dot of fabric glue.

Roll the fabric into the glue, and just keep going with the twisting, gluing, and rolling.

When you're finished, tuck the end of the fabric to the bottom of the rosette, and you'll have a cute little flower!

Once you've finished the rosette, put glue on the bottom.

Glue the rosette to the mitten.

Glue a few flowers side by side and put a few dots of glue on the side of the flowers to stick them to each other.

Optional: using a needle and thread, stitch the rosettes to the mittens to really secure them.

Now you have snazzy mittens that are truly one-of-a-kind!
Note: The glue will dry clear.  I took these pictures before they dried.  I was too anxious to wait until the next morning!

I'd love to know if any of you try this out!  And good luck with the giveaway!

***Hope you enjoyed this sweet tutorial!  As Marla mentioned she would like to give away a pair of gloves to one lucky reader.  If you'd like to enter please leave a comment.***
